Jill McCracken +
The Far Out
About Jill McCracken: Jill McCracken (they/them) is a queer singer/songwriter making emotionally raw retro soul music. Heartfelt passion and vocal power remain front and center whether it’s a boisterous full band performance or an intimate solo set. McCracken’s influence has resonated with their home city of Boston, earning consistent Boston Music Award nominations over the past five years (Singer/Songwriter, Vocalist of the Year), clinching a New England Music Award (Soul/R&B act of the year), and being regarded as “a force to reckon with in the Boston Music Community” (Allston Pudding).
About The Far Out: The Far Out is a funk and soul pop band from Boston, Massachusetts. The six powerhouse musicians have been playing together since they were kids - learning and growing through shared experiences in jazz, theatre, a cappella, and orchestra. Now, they engage their audiences with high-energy grooves, lush vocals, and funky horn lines, supported by undeniable chemistry of a group of lifelong friends. Their goal is to include audiences in their infectious joy and spread the love of funk and soul music to younger generations.
Taking after the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, and Earth, Wind & Fire, The Far Out is stacked with multiple lead singers and songwriters. Their genre is a cohesion of their individual tastes and influences, brought together by a shared aim to entertain and inspire. You’ll often catch the group of multi-instrumentalists switching roles during their shows — passing guitars around, moving from lead vocals to horn section, or stealing a moment behind the keys.
Since their formation in summer ‘21, TFO has quickly become a notable part of the Greater Boston music community. In 2025, they secured the awards for Live Act of the Year and Video of the Year (for “Laurel”) at the New England Music Awards. In addition, their debut album, Greetings from The Far Out, was nominated for Album of the Year at both the NEMAs and Boston Music Awards. The record is a total groove-fest and a celebration of the group’s chemistry and musicianship.

About Jake Swamp and the Pine: Jake Swamp and the Pine is an Americana band born out of Boston, Massachusetts. Led by singer, songwriter and guitarist Drew Zieff, the band features 8 time Boston Music Award winner Jonathan Ulman on drums, Chris Haley on electric guitar, pedal steel and backup vocals, and Austin Beveridge on bass, among other talented musicians who sit in on special occasions.
What started as a songwriting project in 2018 quickly turned into something much bigger. Jake Swamp and the Pine cut their teeth at small basement shows, porch fests, and bars in the Greater Boston area - and are now regularly playing prestigious national festivals and major venues. Through this - and a genuine focus on connecting with fans at an individual level - Jake Swamp and the Pine continue to amass a following that the band lovingly coined ‘The Pine’ - a community of fans who not only connect with the music, but also appreciate the band’s ability to create a sense of camaraderie and intimacy, no matter the size of the room or distance between them.
The band has had the privilege of sharing the stage with artists like Alanis Morissette, Trampled by Turtles, The Wood Brothers, Ziggy Marley, and more.
Keep an eye out for a special announcement of August’s second act!
